GUIDED ADVENTURE IN THE TSITSIKAMMA NATIONAL PARK

GUIDED HIKE - SALT RIVER VIA KALANDER KLOOF

From the tranquillity of the Natures Valley Lagoon, you’ll hike up through indigenous forest where giant Outeniqua Yellow woods form a canopy over  Kalander kloof gorge. The gentle slope gives way to some taxing stairs but once up those you’ll be on the escarpment where fynbos covered slopes lead up to the Tsitsikamma Mountains in the North and down to the Ocean in the South.

The trail heads towards the ocean and the beautiful Salt River, clear tea coloured water (a natural tannin stain from the forest) gurgles of white beach sand and meets turquoise waves between the densely vegetated coastal heads.  It’s a surreal beauty difficult to convey.

GUIDED CANOEING - KEURBOOMS RIVER

A lazy day of paddling along Keurbooms River near Plettenberg Bay. Below the cliffs, the  cola coloured water meanders along forested shores and past sandy beaches. Clear and brown are not words often used to describe water, yet the tannin stained water is crystal clear and clean. It is possible to swim, wade and explore the area. Knysna Loeries, Fish eagle, shy bush buck, genets and many forest creatures live along the forest margins, this canoe trip is a quiet venture into nature.

STORMS RIVER BRIDGE & WATERFALL HIKE

Turquoise Indian ocean and the amber coloured Storms River clash and merge into a work of art as they  meet in the surf below massive black cliffs. It is a spectacular sight that can be enjoyed close up on the suspension bridge that extends out over the waves.

After the high energy of the dramatic Storms River mouth we hike to one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Tsitsikamma National Park, the plunge pool at the base of the falls is a natural rim pool that empties directly into the ocean. You can swim in the cool clear waters and enjoy a picnic on the sunny rocks with the most beautiful views!
