Standing 3165m high, The Sentinel Peak, is the highest free standing peak in the Northern Drakensberg, South Africa. We scramble up steep grass covered scree slopes to the base of the rock pitches, where we prepare for the climb. The pitches are quite varied from one another, allowing climbers to experience different climbing techniques. The summit reveals exhilarating views of the northern Drakensberg escarpment.
After abseiling back down the rock face, we stop for a hikers lunch on our descent. We provide all the gear for the climb. The Sentinel offers climbing routes of various grades from climbs requiring only a good level of fitness to routes for experienced climbers.

A 3 day 2 night trip where we tackle two summit's on the Northern Drakensberg escarpment. Our first summit, Mont-Aux-Sources 3282m is the highest peak in the area, a non technical ascent using the chain ladders to gain access to the Mont-Aux-Sources Plateau. Our second summit is the Colossal Sentinel Peak a delightful technical route. Between summits we have the opportunity to explore the Mont-Aux-sources Plateau, Crows nest, Ribbon Falls, the Amphitheatre and Tugela Falls. Both nights are spent camping in the mountains. Five days of true adventure combining trekking, climbing & abseiling in the Northern Drakensberg. Up onto the Amphitheatre, past the Tugela Falls, Mont-Aux-Sources and on to Ifidi. The Southern Ifidi pinnacle is a dizzying stone column & you have the opportunity to climb it. It's an exhilarating challenge, & the exposure is awesome.
A good night's rest will leave you refreshed  enough for abseiling at Icidi, a place of fantastic views & a superb waterfall. Our last camp is at Icidi, before setting off back down the escarpment to some of life's little luxuries!
