GARDEN ROUTE - CAPE COAST GUIDED NATURE WALK AND ABSEIL ON ROBBERG PENINSULAR Explore the unique Robberg Peninsular a spectacular geographical feature of the Cape coast. On the guided hike you’ll learn about the ancient forces that carved the landscape, the San people who lived in Nelson’s Cave on Robberg, the rare endemic coastal fynbos that covers the Nature Reserve and all of this while enjoying some of the most fantastic scenery on the coast. After a hikers lunch our guides get you over the edge of the cliffs on a stunning abseil, all safety equipment provided, no experience necessary.
GUIDED FOREST WALK—CIRCLES IN A FOREST Visit the forest that renowned South African author of ‘Circles in a forest’ and ‘Fiela se kind’, Dalene Mathee loved so much. Hear the echo’s of the elephants who once roamed these indigenous forests, spy on the shy forest creatures and magnificent birds that live beneath the canopy. Allow our guide to weave the threads of nature, history, myth and reality into a forest tapestry for you.
GUIDED CANOEING NATURE TRAIL ON THE KNYSNA LAGOON From the seat of our two man kayaks - easy to paddle, stable and lots of fun - we take you to explore the wonders of the Knysna Lagoon, spot starfish, sea slugs & crabs, surprise egrets, eagles & king fishers from their nesting places or learn about the natural rhythm of The Knysna lagoon and it’s colourful history. We provide canoes, safety equipment and a guide passionate about the estuary. |

GoVertical Mountaineering guides offer an action packed five days specialised youth school camp in the Drakensberg or Cape Fold Mountains. This is an opportunity to break away from the daily grind, a personal growth experience in the vastly different environment of South Africa’s great mountain ranges, learn practical mountaineering skills while immersing yourself in the beauty of the wilderness.
These challenges are a rewarding life experience on their own, but the skills acquired can also be used as a grounding for future leisure time in the outdoors or a sound base from which to enter the professional adventure guiding industry. No previous experience is necessary. Group sizes are between 4 and 10 people. You’ll experience: Hiking, - everything you need to know from how to properly pack a backpack to avoiding hazards/ river crossings Rock Climbing & abseiling, - The basic rope techniques, knots, a set ups and technical skills we’ll include a peak climb Mountain craft, - From judging weather to choosing the best terrain Camp Craft, - how to choose a great site, make a safe and efficient camp and of course prepare GOOD food. Environmental aspects, all about the Drakensberg or Cape Fold mountains and what makes these areas worthy of conservation. |

3 DAY KNYSNA SLACK PACKING TRAIL A three day trail that is easy, fun and rewarding. Start off with a day of canoeing on the Knysna Lagoon, learn about the Estuary and it’s unique natural heritage. Camp at a well appointed, well run camp site (accommodation also available) cook up a storm and get a good nights rest before tackling a second day of guided walking on a spectacular and secluded beach, where rock pools and rare butterflies are to be found. A second night at camp before a walk on the highest vegetated dune on the South African Coast at Goukamma. All meals provided, gear/ luggage transferred to your accommodation while you hike or canoe. Fully guided.
DRAKENBERG - AMPHITHEATRE TREK An exploration of the splendid Amphitheatre, 2 nights of camping in the Northern Drakensberg with spectacular views, clear rivers & rugged mountains. Take in the summit of Mont-Aux-Sources and the top of the Tugela falls. The days are spent backpacking through The uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, a World Heritage site of incredible basalt cliffs, giant peaks and dramatic pinnacles. Explore the high altitude wetlands, hike across pristine Drakensberg streams & spend your evenings gazing at the stars which seem just inches above you. All meals provided. Fully guided.
